Fees and scholarships

Participation costs:

 

  • The COASTHAZAR program encompasses several participation costs, covering: the tuition fee, handling fee, library and laboratory expenses, student insurance package, and any mandatory costs associated with program involvement, such as introductory programs at each university, field trips and workshops, and attendance at the summer school at the end of the second semester.
     

  • COASTHazar participants are entitled to the complimentary use of a laptop and specialized software, provided at the program's commencement.
     

  • The participation costs do not encompass visa expenses (around €300), and participants should consider this separately in their budgeting.

Full Erasmus Mundus scholarships:

  • Erasmus Mundus scholarships are available, and are granted on a competitive basis to a select group of highly qualified applicants, adding an element of prestige to the program.
     

  • The Erasmus Mundus scholarships span the entire 24-month program duration for full-time enrolment, encompassing all participation costs, plus a monthly allowance of 1,400€, designed to address various expenses such as subsistence, accommodation, travel, and installation costs for the students.
     

  • The full Erasmus Mundus scholarships will be awarded to 20 deserving recipients annually.

Reduced tuition fee Erasmus Mundus scholarships:

 

  • Applicants who were not recipients of a full Erasmus Mundus scholarship have the option to enrol in the program with a reduced tuition fee of 3,000€ (excluding VAT) for the entire duration of the program, through a reduced tuition fee Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
     

  • The reduced tuition fee scholarship covers all participation costs, including the student insurance package (covering health, liability, accident, and assistant insurance).
     

  • All additional costs, including those associated with visas, travel, living, and accommodation for the 24-month period, are not covered, and a confirmation of available funding for these costs is required, substantiated by bank statements.
     

  • The reduced tuition fee scholarship option is exclusively open to private individuals, and is not applicable to employers, government entities, or other scholarship providers.
     

  • The Erasmus Mundus reduced tuition fee scholarships will be awarded to a maximum of 5 deserving restricted number of recipients annually.

Full tuition fee for self-funded students:

 

  • Self-funded (or self-paying) students or students funded by external entities, such as employers, government agencies, or other scholarship providers can attend the programme with a full tuition fee of 18,000€ (excluding VAT) for the entire program duration.
     

  • Additional costs with visas, travel, living, and accommodation for the 24-month period, are not covered by the full tuition fee, and a confirmation of available funding for these costs is required, substantiated by bank statements.

Eligibility for Erasmus Mundus Scholarships:

 

  • Applicants from all over the world holding at least a BSc degree are eligible for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship (see admission requirements).
     

  • Students who have previously obtained an Erasmus Mundus scholarship between 2014 and 2020 are eligible to apply for a COASTHazar scholarship.
     

  • All students awarded an Erasmus Mundus scholarship will be provided with a scholarship contract.

Students with disabilities:

 

Students with disabilities may be eligible to receive a contribution towards their individual needs, up to a specified maximum, provided they meet the general eligibility conditions outlined in the grant agreement. Eligibility for this support may discuss their the COASTHazar programme coordinator. More information can be accessed here.

Student families:

 

Participants accompanied by their families should possess supplementary financial resources.
In addition to the above-mentioned costs, it's essential to factor in additional items, including transportation costs, fees for visa processing, among others.
